| Route Notes | BC at 4900m CBC/IC on 29 April at 5200m, Kato left C3 at about 03:00 hours (NST) on May 18, reached approximately 8100m at about 11:00 hours on May. The weather was very bad, it was complete white-out with furious snowstorm. Then, Kato descended on snowboard from that point (8100m approximately) to 6400m through the left side couloir instead of normal right couloir. He had to take snowboard off on the crevasse traverse below C2, icefall, and some 3 pitches on the snow walls above C1. Kato did not see anybody summitting on that day. He returned to Kathmandu 22 and will leave on 26. |
