| Route Notes | BC at CBC/IC on 12th at 5300m. Kato and Amano left C2 at 01:00 hours (NST), summited at 11:00 hours, stayed on summit about 20 to 30 minutes. Descended to C1 at 15:30 hours. Next day to CBC. Weather was clear but very cold and windy. The members saw view of Everest and other mountains. On the summit saw many prayer flags, one bottle of Poisk oxygen cylinder, one Korean flag. No other expedition summited on that day. Saw summit pictures prayer flags, two bamboo poles with flags. Kato and Amano planned to try southwest side, but there was not enough snow; then they went to northwest side. The team returned to Kathmandu on May 21 and will leave on 28th. |
