| Route Notes | BC at CBC/IC on 20 May at 5300m ABC at usual campsite C1 at usual campsite C2 at usual campsite C3 at usual campsite. Widhalm left C3 at 06:30 NST on May 8, reached to summit at 13:45 hours, stayed on summit about 10 minutes, returned to C2 at 16:30 hours. Next day to ABC. During the climb weather was cloudy and for about two hours it was windy. Summit was calm and clear but far surrounding was cloudy, could not see Everest. On the summit he saw piles of prayer flags, some bamboo poles, oxygen cylinders. Widhalm met two climbers (Basque) and before him were to Koreans with two Sherpas. Widhalm returned to Kathmandu on May 12 and his flight is booked for May 22. If possible he will try to leave early. |
