Route Notes 3 May summit party of Kosztelny, Ledet, R. Sherlock, S. Sherlock, Dhana Rai, Vishnu Gurung and Furba Sherpa). Left C3 2:30 am, Ledet to 7700m, had mini-stroke on left side of face and fingers, so down to C2; was after half hour in descent; S. Sherlock to 7850m, R. Sherlock to 7900m and Kosztelny to 8000m at 11:00 am, turn around time and 3 Sherpas with each member, so all down to C2 that night. Sherlocks at C2 after dark. Gurung hit by rock dislodged by 3 Spaniards and "quite dazed" and "Sherpas" stayed at C3 (they had refused to wear helmets) while members used others. Climb finished: weather worsening and no more time. R. Sherlock 3 fingers deep tissue frostbite, S. Sherlock superficial frostbitten finger. Oxygen used: none by "Sherpas" none at all; by members from C3 to high point; down to C3 only by R. Sherlock, S. Sherlock, Kosztelny. Sherpas: Dhana Bahadur Rai, Necha, Solukhumbu (with Ledet on Annapurna IV in 2003) Bir Bahadur (Vishnu) Gurung Furba Sherpa (18/8/71), Fera near Junbesi (with Ledet on Annapurna IV in 2003)
