| Route Notes | High point at 7140m at bottom of seracs. 27th Vierra tried for top from C2. Brent had turned around from C2. Brent had turned around on 24th at 6800m at base of seracs and had to wait 2 hours for others ahead of them to go up (very slow people ahead). Reached there at 9:30 am NST and Brent doesn't like not being in control of his climb, so Vierra on to C2 alone. Vierra left C2 at 1:00 am on 27th but only 40m higher because snowfalling, foggy and in new snow could see not tracks to follow. So down to C1 alone and rejoined Brent at ABC on 28th. Had already decided on 24 April to make only one summit bid because of lack of funds. |
