Route Notes 1 May summit team of 3 members (Czwojdzinski, Jankowski and Kazmierczak) left 5:00 am NST; Czwojdzinski up 100m up, too cold and started getting frostbite so down to ABC same day; other 2 to top some prayer flags but too cloudy to see any mountains, but altitude checked by GPS. 3:15 pm on top and down to C3 at 8:00 pm and C3 at 11:00 pm after 1 hour in C3 drinking warm drink and nurse their frostbitten fingers and toes. Stayed in C3 and on 3rd Kazmierczak to ABC and Jankowski to C1. 3 May summit team of 3 (Pawlowski, Szczesny and Zaciera) but only Pawlowski went to top while other 2 down after 100m because cold; had left C3 at 6:30 am; 2 turned back after two tries to go more than 100m up. Pawlowski on top at 1:30 pm and down to C3 at 5:00 pm, saw flags and Everest. All in C3 night of 3 May. 4 May Pawlowski to ABC while other 2 down more slowly; had chest infections and Skrzypczynski lung infections. Non-summiters: Czwojdzinski made summit bid May. Gawrzyat got no higher than slightly above ABC, developed chest infection and left expedition 23 April. Polak to C1, then got chest infection and left expedition about 29 April. Skrzypczynski reached midway between C1 and C2, then down with lung infection and spent 3 days in Shigatse hospital. Szczesny went above C3 on 3 May. Zaciera went above C3 on 3 May. Zawada went to C2.
