Route Notes BC at CBC ABC at usual campsite C1 at usual campsite C2 at usual campsite C3 no idea about exact altitude. Oct 5 left C3 at 06:00 hours (NST),- summit 14:40 hours and left summit at 15:00 hours, reached C3 at 19:00 hours. Next day to ABC. Weather: some wind occasionally cold - got good view of Everest. She followed the footprints on snow as far as she reached. But she did not see prayer flags or the small pole on summit. Her Sherpa Mingma Gelu did not climb with her as the Sherpa got sick (she said it may be intention of Sherpa not to go up with her). The Sherpa went up to C2. C2 and C3 tents belonged to Tibetan expedition and she was allowed to use them. She returned to KTM on Oct 8 and will leave on Oct 20. She lost both toes and parts of heels on Dhaulagiri, in 1995 Oct, where she had to spent 13 hours on open snow on descending. Mingma Gelu Sherpa: According to Vialenkova, summited Everest two times, Makalu two times, Makalu two times. She does not have other details about him. Mingma is brother of Lhakpa Sherpa. 20 Oct 2004 - Eloise Barbier (Italian independent climber) and Tirtha Tamang: Sherpas with her used other independent climbers on same Asian Trekking permit are sure she did not reach summit. She was a slow climber (perhaps because of amputated toes and heels in 1995 on Dhaulagiri), did not have enough time to top and return to C3. Other Sherpas went from ABC up to search for her and found her slowly descending from C3 to C2 in afternoon of 6th and reached ABC with her in evening - she was a slow climber and not a skilled one, not properly equipped and winds were very strong. She was also unpredictable in her actions (the reason her Sherpa did not go for summit with her).
