Route Notes Left C2 for top on 14 May at 6:30 am. Gygax turned back at 7600m (exhausted); summit party got to top 12:15 pm and saw Everest and Lhotse when clouds cleared and down to C3. Other members suffered from bad diarrhea. Oxygen: Mrs Carlyle from C3 to top to C3 and Gygax for couple of minutes at 7600m. Barnes left expedition 7th May (father died). Briscoe left expedition 7th May (not competent enough, couldn't use crampons) Clayton left expedition 12th May (no longer strong and knew had no possibly to summit) Hoss left expedition 12th May (diabetic and couldn't manage his sugar level at altitude)
