| Route Notes | 28 April to ABC to rest and then snowfall and windy. Again in C2 for a summit bid but stopped from going high on 6th May at 7400m in strong wind and snow; all and back to C2 and on to ABC (this attempt by Krabec, Maly, Novak with other Czechs). 9th May from ABC some 3 members up to C1; 10th to C2; 11th from C2 left for top 5:00 am (Chinese time) and got to top at 1:00 pm (10:45 NST) by Maly and Novak while Krabec stopped 7500m because another hour to reach top and return safely and toes very cold. From top saw Everest and Lhotse, returned to C2 at 1:00 pm. 12th to ABC. On 7th May Penkava had tried for summit alone, but stopped at 7700m at rock band because other teams' Sherpas told him there at 1:00 pm that he had insufficient time to reach top and return. Leader Vestak got serious lung infection and left expedition on 27 April. Sika to C1 only. |
