Route Notes ABC at normal site C2.5 at normal site. Both members to C3 12 May for top bid, but on 13 May it was very cold (-36 C), wind strong and Hoek Van Duke feeling sick, so she stayed in C3 while Boslooper and 2 Sherpas left 5:45 am went to top at same time as many others (13:15 Chinese Time). On top were prayer flags and from top saw Everest and Lhotse. Down to C3 at 16:00 hours and slept there. On 14th in descent from C3 Hoek Van Dyke slipped on ice down 50m, hit Boslooper and both fell (he got black eyes). Slept in C2 14 May and ABC 15 May (Hoek Van Dyka carried by Tibetan porters from C1 to ABC). Boslooper froze one finger climbing from C3 to top but will heal. Ice climbing was very hard; Sherpa said there was more ice than normal. Sherpas: Phurba Pasang, Charwo, Sotang, 6 Oct 58, Cho Oyu X3 Namgyal, 1977, Rakha-5, Khotang, Cho Oyu X1
Accidents Hoek Van Dyke fell and broke ribs; Boslooper 1 frostbitten finger
