| Route Notes | 23 Sept summit bid from C2 but only C3 altitude 7600m, but not higher and returned to C2 same day because of snowfall and wind and back to ABC same day. Now many days bad weather and no one from this went higher again. Bonjean, Boyer and Vidal left expedition 27 Oct because expedition finished and wanted to go home quickly. Saw 10-15-20 soldiers at ABC and Sherpas said they were there in fight between soldiers and Tibetans and that some Tibetans injured or killed. Muller heard 4 shots: happened about 16 Sept and he saw same soldiers going towards Nangpa La Sherpa: Pasang Gyalzen, Makalu VDC, Xixa X1 (not Cho Oyu) Dawa Nuru, Makalu VDC, 1971, 1st 8000er |
