| Route Notes | May 15 started by all members and Sherpas at 23:15 hours Nepal time. Seidl and Pemba reached summit 08:45 hours, stayed about 20 min, back to C2 at 12:00 hours. Kaiser reached summit 09:45 hours, spent about 15/20 min, back to C2 at 13:00 hours. Moesl reached summit at 11:20 and Maier at 11:25 spent 20 and 15 min, respectively, then moved down together. Moesl reached C2 at 14:45 hours and Maier at 15:15 hours. Weather was very good. The members saw Everest, Lhotse and other mountains. Leader Rinkes returned from C3 due to tiredness. Walter went up with Ang Phurba on 17th to C1, on 18th to C2, 19th to C3, storm started, weather was bad, so Phurba returned to ABC on 21st and Rinkes stayed on in Dutch tent at C3 [at 7500m]. He returned to C1 on 24th. The team returned to KTM on 28 and to leave on May 30. Ang Phurba: 5 times Cho Oyu summiter - no summit Source of above information: Moesl did most of talking. Present also was Seidl. Rinkes went out saying to come back after a while, but did not. |
