Route Notes	23rd slept in C2 and 24th to new C2. 25th both Italians left new C2 for top at 3:00 am (CST). Nicolodi no battery in headlamp and could not see well because moving slowly and stepped into deep snow off well beaten track; both turned back 7400m about 6:00 am and return to 7100m C2. 26th Martini up again alone at 3:00 am CST and about 6:00 am met other climbers but carried on after together on fixed ropes and on top 10:30 am (12:45 pm NST) waited 50 minutes for fog to clear but did not and saw only prayer flags at top. Down to ABC that evening. "Little tired" from loads for C2 and "little snowing." 29th Martini found seat in jeep of Slovenian small teams and in KTM 30th. 29th Nicolodi in ABC to try again for top with Argentinian and Mexican team. Martini came to Cho Oyu for his 2nd ascnt to get good pix but again cloudy. Nicolodi - 7 Oct He reached 7710m on 30 Sept. Started for top from ABC to C2 29 Sept and try for top alone on 30 Sept from C2 turned abck at 7710m because deep snow, strong winds ropes covered by snow, on 7700m about 4:00-5:00 am but could not see above because thick fog. Down to ABC directly because weather not going to get better.
