| Route Notes | April 30 both members left C2 at 01:00 hours. Leader reached the summit at around 12:30 hours. Other member summited at around 12:50 hours. The day was cloudy and windy. Down to C2 around 17:00 hours. The team deposited supplies in C2 on April 27. C1 supplies were deposited on 11 and 13 April. During the expedition they shuttled between ABC and C1 eleven times. Most of the days were windy, snow and very cold. According to the expedition team, this was the second successful ascent of the season - the first one by Swiss expedition. May 3 left ABC. Luckily left in a jeep going to Tingri hired by an American women. From Tingri to May 4 Kathmandu travel with the African expedition in Asian Trek Transport (bus). Leader Koelblinger will be joining the OED/ECO Himal scheduled for November in Khumbu. They met Fausto De Stefani, the Italian climber who had all 8000m summits. |
