Route Notes BC at Chinese BC C1 was actual BC High point at shoulder (probably edge of summit plateau). Sept 24 to C1 - Passino, Besson and Joyeusaz spent night. Sept 29 to C2 - Passino, Besson, Joyeusaz and Di Giorgio spent night. Oct 9 Joyeusaz and di Giorgio attempted the summit. Due to cold and wind they gave up the climb. Little below the shoulder, Di Giorgio felt more cold in his previously injured knee, walked down to C2. Joyeusaz climbing with his ski boots, about 8000m, his toes start getting cold. He skied down near to small lake/pond moraine about 6100m. They don't have written notes of their expedition. They arrived into KTM on the night of Oct 11. Will leave on 14. C2: Sept 21 - Barmasses arrived to BC. Herve got severe AMS; upon Auda's (expedition doctor) advice, both Barmasses left BC on 23. They probably left Nepal on Oct 26. Group II: Passino arrived to BC on Sept 20. Spent night at C1 only. Suffered from bronchitis, had two days rest in BC. And left for KTM with Auda. Rampini: Independent. Climbed up to C2 only. He refused to meet and talk about his climbing details. Returned to KTM on Oct 12. Suppose to leave on 14th. He stayed in Marshyangdi Hotel.
