| Route Notes | High point at C3 site of Anna Czerwinska and other team. 22nd Sept Piotrowski went up to C3 but since his Sherpa (Sonam) hadn't brought there gear for making C3 through "miscommunication." He went there only to see how he tolerated the attitude (no problem). So went down to ABC to discuss with Sonam the possibility of making attempt for top, but they couldn't find date for leaving mountain that would give him transport to share with others, so came back as originally scheduled. Climb was easy below C3 but perhaps not so easy above it because of altitude. Was "livid" when he discovered "miscommunication" with Sonam prevented summit bid. Wanted badly to go to top. Australian Matt Savage, also on same permit, on 1 Oct said Piotrowski went to C3 for a few hours and then down. "Not motivated" to go higher, "intimidated" by the mountain. |
