Route Notes BC on point 5293m of National Geographic map, west side of Lhotse Shar Glacier High point at east side of Lhotse Shar Glacier. On 22 Oct Kudo and Takata & 3 guides (Nepalis) from BC to search route to Cho Polu & crossed Lhotse Shar Glacier to see west side of N Ridge, but found section north of Pt 6183 on ridge dangerous from falling seracs & section south of that point large seracs. Mountain "very beautiful." Made no attempt to climb above glacier but returned to BC same day. Did not try other apporach, via SW Ridge because very difficult; so instead asked for permit for Island Peak & climbed it instead. Climb via NE Face from Barun Glacier should be easy but this team had no time for long trek around to there. Success on Cho Polu was claimed, then later retracted.
Accidents Nothing serious (Hata altitude sickness kept him from summiting Island Peak but not seriously ill)
