Route Notes Up on arrival in Khumbu by helicopter to Shyangboche 5 Koreans (including Ro at BC only and Sarki Nurbu Lama) to Ama Dablam BC while 5 Koreans went to Tawoche BC. Ama Dablam climbed by SW Ridge by 2 Koreans only (other 2 Koreans sick and Sarki not interested in for him a second ascent). On 10th Sept on Ama Dablam top were Kim Young-Jeoung and Park Bung-Gil; Kim Young-Su and Ro Im-Jun to C1 only. At same time 5 other Koreans, an Italian and Lhakpa Gyalu Sherpa to Tawoche and must have climbed SE Face as planned with summit reached on 9th Sept by 3 members, Lee Seung-Bok, Lim Sam-Gyun and Gang Hee-Chang. To Cholatse went 3 Tawoche Koreans (none from Ama Dablam) and Sarki Nurbu Lama: Lee, Lim (who stayed at Cholatse BC only) and Kim Young-Su who did not reach summit. Climbed SW Ridge of Cholatse. * 2 Tawoche members went home as soon as that climb finished. Cholatse BC left on 16 Sept and met Ama Dablam people at Namche one day after they had gotten there (16 Sept). Cholatse summiters could not descend to C2 same day (very deep snow), same night but spent night in crevasse. Very difficult climb; very deep snow on Ama Dablam ascent also.
