| Route Notes | BC 01/11 4800m C1 03/11 5700m FSmt 05/11 by Pasang Lhamu, Thompson, Berenyi, Nima Doma at 1 pm. Team spent an extra night at C1 as the ascent was very hard and they were tired. It took them 7 hours to get there. On summit push, they left C1 at 2:30 am. The ropes were already fixed by other teams. Perfect weather. No wind, no cloud almost too hot. Route starts off on the rock which was the most technical part and then continues on the snow. Perfect conditions. Spent about 20 minutes on the fore-summit which was about 30m vertical distance away from the pinnacle. The snow was deep and it was not fixed and they did not have a way to fix it. They descended to BC where they arrived after dark. Left BC on 06/11 by foot to Phortse, 07/11 heli to Lukla. This was a true women’s expedition. The entire team was female (six porters, cook, kitchen girls). |
