| Route Notes | Team left C1 at 4 am, summited at 13:30 pm, then descended to C1. The route is 1200m and graded wi4 m4. The lower half was scrambling on buttresses and going into steep snow gullies. The upper portion is a beautiful unbroken snow/ice ridge winding toward the summit. The summit guarded by a few rock bands which were climbed via waterice inside a chimney. The weather was absolutely amazing. Not a cloud in the sky. The days prior had been poor weather with high winds and snowfall. As well the following day, November 4, the weather quickly turned foul as we made our way to base camp. Extreme winds that day made it not possible to summit had we been a day later. And then heavy snow fell for a few days during our exit. |
