| Route Notes | Approach: Puiyam, Pangkongma, Nashing, Digma, Chulan Kharka, Chumbu Kharka, Kotte, Tagnag, Khare, Kogma Dingma, Low camp, Depot Camp above Amphu Camp Kossart and Morris started their [east to west] summit traverse bid on 26 Oct from C1 (5850m) at 9:30 am climbing the headwall about 500m high; as their climbing progressed the steepness on the wall was between 70-80 degrees and the snow condition was not good. It was chest-deep and unconsolidated. The wind was very strong. They reached the high point of 6230m at 4:30 pm, then decided to turn around to C1 where they arrived between 6:30-7 pm. The team returned to Kathmandu on 5 Nov and will leave on 9 Nov. Fixed rope: 200m between C1 to high point. |
