Route Notes 09 May: the entire team stayed in BC for acclimatization and rest. 10 May: the entire team went to C1 with 2 porters and one Sherpa (Billing Sherpa); normally the hired people shouldn't have been above BC, but they proposed themselves to carry 3 backpacks to C1. There Miguel Guedes began to show minor signs of cerebral edema (with blood oxygen saturation at 50%). Pedro dismantled one tent, took Miguel's bag and both went back to the BC. 400m below C1, Miguel was already feeling better. 11 May: Miguel stayed BC for recovery whilst Pedro went back to C1, hoping to reach C2. There he found Sandra Reis with cyanose (lips) and an oxygen saturation at 68%, Edgar Barbosa feeling not good as well (minor signs of AMS). Despite the weather being not so good, he tried to go further alone anyway. After 800m [est. 5800m] under heavy wet snow, he turned around back to C1. Having contacted in the morning his weather forecast guide based in Portugal, he knew the bad weather should last 3 or 4 days again, with lots of snow. With 1 member in BC for recovery and 2 feeling not good at C1, he decided to abandon the climb. C1 was dismantled and everybody slept to BC that night. 12 May: the team left BC for Tange and back to Jomsom. Sherpas: Namgyal Zambu, 1980 Gyalu, 1978 Rinji, 1965
