Route Notes BC at Panch Pokhari C1 at west side of West Col C2 just northwest of point 6730m. High point at bottom of SE Ridge. After BC fixed ropes at West Col on 5 May and next day all 12 reached C1. 7 May seven persons reached 6450m enroute to C2 then retreated, with all 12 down to BC that night. 9 May 3 members [Wilfert, Wilmes and Schmidt and 3 Sherpas up to C1 and 10 May to C2. 11 May Schmidt and Wilmes tried for summit and reached 6900m and returned to C1 because of deep snow with crust. Also both not in best health with colds and cough, exhausted by this tiresome slow progress. Left C2 at 6:30 am and turned back at 1:00 pm. 12 May back to BC with gear. No chance for further attempts because others also not in good health and no improvement at BC's altitude. Came out via Amphu Laptsa which was difficult.
