| Route Notes | Nottaris & Troillet - 5 Nov 82 Baruntse - BC 4900m 8 Sept, same as Makalu BC. C1 5100m - 13 Sept. C2 6100m on Col - 16 Sept. Route = S Ridge = Normal route. Summiters as given by Ministry. Miss Kull reached 6900m, too difficult for her above. 2nd summit party not feeling well at 1st of Oct, so went to BC and rested. No real difficulties. Only accident was Miss Hiroz when had gone up again to help clear mountain and lost balance on loose boulder. Mohan Rai, Manaslu Tkg. - 25 Oct 82 Helicopter brought Miss Hiroz to KTM yesterday, she is OK: X-ray shows no damage. Will leave KTM for home on 27th if Lufthansa can get seats for her and Baruntse male member who came with her. Sharma, Tourism - 2 Oct 82 Again climbed Oct 9th by: Claudio Righeschi, radio technician, born 1946, Ticiono, Switzerland Miss Marie Hiroz, born 1953, teacher, Boloris On top 12:00 and returned BC next day. Makalu to be attempted in following days. Ale, Tourism - 15 Oct 82 Baruntse summit 2 Oct at 15:30 by Rudolf Homberger alone. Left 6100m to go to top. Miss Vreni Kull reached 7200m with Homberger; because too steep she did not go to summit. 3 more members will attempt summit 6th Oct. All OK. Nottaris - 28 Aug 82 Expedition 2nd mountain will be Baruntse, not Cho Polu. Will use SE Ridge route. 6 will climb Baruntse only; other 3 Nottaris, Rausis and Troillet will be only ones on Makalu. Trio may also do some acclimatization, climbing on Baruntse or climbing it after Makalu. Troillet flew to Tumlingtar this morning with cargo. Rest of team fly to T'tar tomorrow afternoon. |
