Route Notes BC 02/11 5400m C2 04/11 6100m C2 05/11 6400m HPt 06/11 7080m by Favero and Kalden Phura Sherpa. Favero and Kalden Phura started for summit from C2 at 2:15 am. They turned around at 9:30 am; they were fast, but last part to summit was very dangerous to negotiate in the bad snow conditions. It had been hard climbing up the slope to 7000m through a lot of snow, no tracks; they had to break trail and were the only ones going for the summit. Old tracks were not there anymore, fixed ropes were buried by snow. They descended to BC the same day, arriving at 5 pm. It was very cold, -28° Celsius near summit, -20° Celsius at C2. Favero initially wanted to go for the summit from C1 earlier when conditions were better, but her Sherpa objected as he thought it would be too long and too hard from C1. So they had to establish C2 first and when they were ready for summit push, conditions got worse. A lot of snowdrifting. Moretto didn't feel well, couldn't handle altitude and never got higher than BC. He went to Tagnag and waited for Favero. Team left BC on 7 Nov trekking via Mera La to Lukla.
