Route Notes BC 13 May 5400m C1 14 May 6100m C2 15 May 6400m HPt 16 May 6930m by Flohr, Schmidt, Chhiri Rai. Schmidt, Flohr and Chhiri went to C2 on 15 May to fix the ropes. They did not carry the tent so they had to go back to C1 to collect more equipment. Flohr and Chhiri ascended to C2 again and Schmidt decided to stay at C1 as he was tired. He started his summit attempt from C1 at 4 am and reached Flohr and Chhiri at C2 at 5:30 am. They reached the big crevasse near the summit at 12:30 pm. It was clear that they could not cross it and started their descent. Flohr and Chhiri slept at C2, where they arrived at 4 pm and Schmidt carried on to C1, where he arrived at 5 pm. On 17 May they descended to BC. Oxygen: Not taken, not used. Sherpa: Chhiri Rai, Gudel-7, Solukhumbu, 17/5/1977, no 8000m experience
