Route Notes The team set up its C2 on 7 May at 6450m. Cates, James, Day, Dawa and Phurba went up to 6500m just to look the condition of the climbing route. There was very strong wind and waist-deep snow. It was not possible to continue due to deep snow conditions, so they gave up climbing. Day left BC on 9 May via Mera La and might have reached Kathmandu on 11 May and probably left for home on 12 May. Rest of the members returned Kathmandu on 15 May. Brown and Crocker left for home on 16 May, Hennebry left on 17 May and James left on 19 May. Fixed rope: 200m above C1.
