Route Notes Francois Guillaume (email to Paulo Grobel) - March 24, 2013 The 24th, we learned that Chewang Nima was missing after his attempt to install ropes on the final ridge. It was pretty obvious for the whole team at this time already that we will not reach the summit. I found this web page, probably the best to read to know about the conditions: http://www.markhorrell.com/blog/2010/baruntse-post-mortem-bad-luck-or-bad-decision-making/ Nevertheless we made it up to C1 (West Col) the 26th and from this up to the beginning of the final ridge at about 6700-6800m. Back to BC the 27th, leaving the 29th. Except for the snow on the final ridge, the conditions were good.
