Route Notes BC near lake C1 east of West Col towards SE Ridge C2 west of Pt 6730m on Himalaya Kailash Everest BC map. On their way from Lukla to BC, the entire team went to Mera Peak to get some acclimatization. The summit party consisted of three members and three Sherpas: Allan, Bellworthy, Cattrall, Lhakpa Rangdu, Lhakpa Sherpa and Pasang. They left C2 at 2:00 am on 5 Nov; Cattrall, Lhakpa Rangdu and Pasang were on the summit at 8:00 am while Allan, Bellworthy and Lhakpa summited at 9:30 am. The skies were clear and it was bit windy on the top, but almost calm below. Cattrall and the two Sherpas with him descended to C2 at 11:00 am and waited there for others to join them there. All went back in BC together at 5:00 pm. The summit did not include two members. Kerry Vatistas had developed altitude sickness on 28 October at 5800m while climbing to C1. She immediately returned to BC that day and left the expedition the next day. Her husband, Paul Vatistas, went back to BC and left with her; he had already had a disagreement with the leader, so was ready to leave anyway.
