Route Notes Four members Bennett, Glynn, O'Mara and Williams took (for them) an exploratory route to reach their mountain (Leonard went more directly). From Kathmandu the four went by road to Singati, a village northwest of Jiri, and then trekked north and east via Simigaon, Beding, Na, across the Teshi Lapcha pass, to Thami, Gokyo village and lake, across the Cho La to Dingboche and Pangboche, east to Chhukung, across the Amphu Laptsa pass to BC. They left Kathmandu on 28 October and finally arrived at BC on 20 November. They decided against making a C2 because it was too windy to pitch a camp at the bottom of the SE Ridge; they made their summit push from C1. All five members and four Sherpas left C1 for the top at 3:00 am on November 25. Glynn had to turn back at 6250m because he was too warmly dressed and he was much too hot. He went down to BC that day and Jim Williams went with him. The remaining members Bennett, Leonard and O'Mara, plus their four Sherpas, continued to the summit and arrived there between 12:20 and 12:45 pm. They returned to C1 at 4:00 to 5:30 pm and stayed there that night. They were back in BC the next day. They left BC on the 27th and trekked to Lukla via the Amphu Laptsa, Chhukung and Pangboche. They flew to Kathmandu on 3 November. Sherpas: Dawa Sherpa, 56, Shomare (20 min northeast of Pangboche), Khumjung-7, no 8000ers Nawang Pasang, 16/8/80, Beding, Cho Oyu X1, Everest X3 Nima Tashi, 4/4/60, Pangboche, Everest X8 Phurba Namgyal, 7/2/86, Beding, Cho Oyu X2, Everest X1
