Route Notes On 23 April Evans, Thomas, Surendra Kumar Gurung and Namgyal Sherpa went from C1 to observe conditions on the West Col. At about 6300-6400m in the morning around 9 am, the observing party found the conditions on West Col as solid blue ice, dangerous loose rocks, dangerous snow bridges between C1 and C2 and big crevasses. The team radioed the leader and reported the conditions. Leader Wills asked the observing team to descend to BC same day. The expedition team then decided to abandon the expedition on 24 April. Cloke and Jeoffrey climbed up to C1. Gie, Harvey, Lander, Taylor and Wills climbed up to the bottom of West Col about 6000m. The team returned Kathmandu on 3 May and will leave on 6 May.
