| Route Notes | Babic, Gilot and Mingma tried to go for high camp on 17 April. After walking about 100-150m Babic faced problem with his loose crampons. Team found that West Col was full of blue ice and not possible to cross it. Then, the team decided to give up further climbing and descended to BC. The weather was good. The team did not have enough time to wait for few more days. Sepulchre suffered from high altitude sickness and evacuated from BC to Lukla by helicopter on 14 April. French doctor in Lukla told Sepulchre that he has sub-cerebral edema and not to go back to mountain. Witteveen and sirdar of Expedition Sherpas had to go to Seto Pokhari on 14 April with oxygen to help one of the returning porters who was sick. Witteveen returned to BC on the evening of 15 April. There was not enough time for Witteveen to go for climbing. The team returned to Kathmandu on 29 April and will leave on 1 May. Fixed rope: 220m from ABC to C1. Sherpa: Mingma Sherpa, 20/01/78 (7/10/2034), Phortse |
