Route Notes Eleven climbers started their climbing on 14th May at 4 am from C1. Smithies turned back from an altitude of 6400m because he was slow. Other ten climbers (8 members plus 2 Sherpas) continued their climbing until they reached at an altitude of 6900m at 10 am. They attempted to go further but snow conditions were very bad: it was soft and deep. They could not fix the ropes. They spent an hour there and decided to abandon the expedition and turned around. It took for them half an hour to come down to C1 and the same day they brought everything down to BC.
