Route Notes They reached an altitude of 5200m, a day below BC. On 24th April, porters asked extra money if they had to go above this point, but due to lack of money with team, they could not pay porters, so they turned around from there; thus team members had to carry all loads from this point to BC. Bierling had rib pain and bleeding at BC. She got rid of it after 2 days. Ansell was not used to altitude, so he did not feel like staying at BC; he left BC on 6th May and arrived in Kathmandu on 12 May. Bierling, Grocott and Pasang Sherpa came back to Kathmandu via Chhukung, Namche.
