Route Notes BC at Khyumu Glacier at head of Khyumu Khola, south of mountain C1 on SW Ridge C2 on SW Ridge C3 on SW Ridge. Tried S Face only one day and big ice avalanche came down when hanging glacier's top broke off leaving rest of it to threaten falling (no one hurt) so changed route to SW Ridge. High point at 5800m because fixed rope finished (had used up 3000m of rope) and needed 3000m more because of many rock pinnacles necessary to go up to top of and then down again. Ridge almost old rock with some snow. Had planned to follow Japanese 1978 Autumn route via ridge to S Face but did not get on to face (did not get to that point to that ridge).
