Route Notes C1 at West Col C2 on NW Ridge High point on NW Ridge. 24 Sept at low BC in Seti Khola where several small rivers join Seti Rivers at 3500m; had to find correct approach to mountain in very dangerous area of deep ravines and land slides; was ENE of Machhapuchhare. Decided not possible to climb SW Face because of danger from loose rock and ice avalanches and rock avalanches. So changed route to far left side of SW Face to West Col of Annapurnas IV (Col between Annapurna III and Annapurna IV). Went along NW Ridge to 6200m, only 1/3 of distance to summit. Cloud, wind, avalanche danger here, waited in camp one day and then down on 17th to BC. Delayed finding approach to mountain by cloud cover and could not see mountain. (Germans spr'76 approached Face from valley wall east of Seti and ridge between these valleys).
