| Route Notes | BC at Sabje Khola High point at the Dome. 21st Oct Bayer and Polster made deposit at C3, fixed rope to 6200m and down to C2, getting late and not enough food for them and 2 others coming up to stay in C3, and also birds were destroying tents so did not want to pitch and leave empty a tent. Also problem of mild illness among members in BC and C1 and they unable to carry supplies up at this time. 22nd Polster and Salcher occupied C3 intending to make C4 at 6500-6600m but on 23rd heavy snowfall and down to C1. Salcher got badly frostbitten fingers and toes (were frostbitten 2 years ago on McKinley so now sensitive to freezing and when pitched C3 he took off his gloves to work with the tent). Now climb finished with heavy new snowfall (1 m at BC in one day) and avalanching. |
| Accidents | Salcher frostbitten toes and fingers but will heal |
