Route Notes C1 only by Fankhauser and Schoenwald with other DAV Team; Germans led by Mlynarczyk to their C1 at 5300m. High point at ABC. 1. HA sickness: expedition leader Dr. Karl Gabl and Thomas Klimmer 2. 13 Oct in ABC (4600m) 3. Common descent all the other members from ABC to Hongde on 15 Oct 4. Ascent Dr. Schoenwald and Horst Fankhauser to ABC on 17 Oct 5. Decision that climb will be abandoned from Dr. Schoenwald and Mr. Fankhauser on 24 Oct 6. Decision from the members Mr. and Mrs. Horschlager, Mr. Stuefer, Miss Katstaller and Mr. Walser (trekking from Hongde to Pokhara). Fankhauser and Schoenwald joined the other DAV expedition and reached 5300m. The rest went trekking. Reached Pokhara via Namun La and then went to Ghorepani.
Accidents Gabl and Klimer had problems associated with AMS and so left 13th Oct; all others had stomach problems probably due to the snowmelt water
