| Route Notes | C1 on North Ridge of Annapurna IV. C2 pitched but never stayed there: back to C1 on 25th, next 2 days spent fixing last fixed ropes below C2 and 27th when whole face's soft snow started shifting and sinking like an earthquake roller coaster wave, then whole thing settled - were windslabs above and could see windslab factures above (face was small face just below plateau). Many crevasses below plateau. Then saw strong clouds coming in, weather changing. Too dangerous to stay on mountain. Doleceks left early because of incompetance and fever; altitude sickness faked [as reported by other team members]. |
