More heavy snowfall from 17th Oct and decided to evacuate BC leaving gear there. 18 Oct found body of mailrunner who tried to rejoin team. Started up 20 Oct and stayed there 9 days doing experiments and packing. 3 members tried on 28 Oct to go to deposit but too much snow and wind. Only 5 members actually did any climbing above BC. Did all research planned for BC. ARPE = Association pour la Recherche en Physiologie de l'Environment
