The 4-man Timangchaur Yamanokai Club party of Tokyo led by Yasumitsu Yamano (36) climbed the mountain by north on May 9. BC(3500m) was made by Salatang Khola on April 2. C1(4300m) on 8th; C2(5300m) on 21st and C3(6100m) on 29th were made. Next day, deputy leader Osamu Yamamoto (31) got fever and members evacuated him down to a village. Noboru Yokoyama (28) and Mikioh Takamatsu (34) with Sherpa members only, resumed climbing and fixed ropes for 500m on North Ridge on 8th and made C4 (7000m). The two members and sirdar Ang Phuri Lama reached the top. Yamamoto was later diagnosed hepatitis in a KTM hospital. |
