Route Notes Kroell - 6 Nov 80 BC 11 Oct - 3400m C1 13 Oct - 4300m C2 15 Oct - 5050m C3 20 Oct - 6200m C4 22 Oct - 6850m Summit: 23 Oct Oellinger Gertsch Ang Pasang Nga Temba 25 Oct - group tried but forced back by very cold wind from 7200m; Pattis, Paeselt, Dr. Smoler and sirdar Ang Chopal maybe could have reached top but frostbite danger 26 Oct - Ressle, Welch and Kroell reached summit 28 Oct - all in BC 30 Oct - left BC Climbed NW Ridge (classical route); quite safe and not very difficult. 1000m fixed rope. All returned yesterday except one who left 2nd day of trek to BC because of illness. No accident or much frostbite. Kroell & Geyer - 30 Sept 80 All arrive KTM yesterday; leave about 20 Oct by road to Dumre. Route = NW Ridge (standard route) Arrive BC in 12th days from Dumre through Marshyangdi Khola; location depends on snow conditions but hope put it at 3800m which is usual altitude. 4 camps above with C4 at 6900m. 6 Sherpas above BC with Ang Chopal as sirdar. 3 weeks BC to BC (climbing period). Oxygen medical only
