Route Notes Approach: Nar Phu, Konga La, Tilicho Lake, Humde BC 11/04 4830m (Lavaud arrived at BC on 17/04) C1 20/04 5450m HPt 21/04 5800m (just below C2) by Dawa Sange and all members except Bouillot and Giambasi. HPt of all Sherpas (and Dorje Tondup) except Dawa Sange was 6200m on 17/04. Rope-fixing Sherpas went to C1 on 15/04 and C2 16/04. When they moved to C3 on 17/04 they were faced with huge crevasses that were impossible to cross. They decided to abandon expedition and returned to BC the same day. For the other members, it was difficult as the Sherpas had already decided that the expedition was over before they started. However, as they wanted to have a look, all members (except Clement and Ludovic) as well as Dawa Sange moved up on 20/04 to check the conditions. As there was no tent at C2, they moved up just below it and then descended to BC the same day. Bouillot reached crampon point at 5000m. Giambasi reached below C1 at 5200m. Dorje Tondup climbed with the rope-fixing Sherpas and reached 6200m. Team left BC on 22/03 by foot to Humde; on 23/04 mules brought loads down. Oxygen: Not taken, not used Fixed rope: 1000m
