| Route Notes | On 14 Oct team started opening route and fixing ropes from BC to 100m below C1. The first leg from BC to C1 was mixed technical climbing and there was vertical rock face about 30-40 meters. Then the team descended to BC. On 20 Oct the team went up to 5500m close to C1. There was a very narrow ridge to pass before reaching C1. Both sides of the ridge were steep and with snow on top of the narrow ridge it was dangerous to cross it. There was danger of breaking the snow on the ridge if someone stepped on it. Then the team decided to return to BC. On 21 and 22 Oct snowstorm started. On 23 and 24 Oct there were avalanches. There was not enough time to wait for weather to improve. Then the team decided to abandon the expedition. Fixed rope: BC to C1. BC GPS reading: N28 degrees.35'.05,1" E.084,04 degrees - 50.9" |
