Route Notes BC below Machhapuchhare BC ABC still on grass in valley. To acclimatize, since would have gone up pillar alpine-style on Annapurna III, went up W Ridge of Annapurna IV from south to 7200m and got stuck in snow cave, spent a week in it when heavy snowfall made it too dangerous to move. Now waist-deep snow at ABC. Down to BC where it rained whole next week with torrential rain some nights. About 8th Oct went to ABC and saw too much snow around for safe attempt on SE Pillar so decided on 10th to abandon climb. Never got on to mountain.
