Route Notes BC on glacier southwest of Annapurna III C3 at NW Ridge. After 8th Oct was snowstorm of 3-1/2 days and then had to dig fixed rope out from under meters of snow. 22nd Oct, after having fixed ropes for 2 days, attempted push to top, got to top of S Face. 3 bivouacked at high point that night to do easy "trivial" long slope to top but next morning strong winds prevented any upward progress at all. Then another snowstorm night of 24th Oct buried ropes and had 2 frostbite cases, McDowell and Teague, who needed helicopter evacuation. Lot more technical than anticipated. C2 to C3 possibly variation of earlier expeditions. Adrian Teague and Jonathan Chester came out in Austrian Manaslu's helicopter; Teague frostbitten when fell asleep in unprepared biv and Chester next morning and in descent in storm.
