Route Notes On 4th day out Pokhara, on 5 May, on ridge south of Gholmide Khola 21 porters said terrain was too dangerous for them and dumped their loads leaving members and 4-man camp staff and local guide; they set up [temporary] basecamp here. 6 May went north to investigate passes enroute to mountain, but found place where avalanche had taken out trail and returned to base. Now started to rain and snow, which continued for ten days: were in clouds most of time. 11 May members and one Sherpa returned to pass where avalanche had taken out route (hoped to get through pass and see terrain beyond) but started to rain and snow and again back to base. Sent for porters and left base on 14th May to return to Pokhara. Never saw Annapurna III after leaving Pokhara.
