| Route Notes | Lot of very deep anow (powder with crust) some waist deep. 3 avalanches hitting BC with one on 1 Dec partially destroying BC and blast felt at C1. Avalanche coming from from high on face. Were series of serac barriers to be crossed under and then decided risks too great. Snow that was avalanching was late autumn's heavy snowfall that had not consolidated on sunless N Face. None was extremely old but had excellent equipment and no frostbite. Shyam, Tourism - 15 Dec 83 Abandoned on 13 Dec because many snow avalanches C3 10 Dec 5600m. Leave of BC 15 Dec planned; all well. No mention of being hit by avalanche. |
