| Route Notes | BC at lower Base Camp area C3 at bivouac High point just above C3. On May 6th they fixed rope on rock sections. On May 7th they attempted to go to the summit and weather deteriorated. May 6th perfect weather, May 7th wind and snow. On May 8th they returned to C2 and spent the night. On May 9th they spent the day and night at C2. On May 10th, stayed the day and night and with Ukranians. On May 7th they left C2 at 6:00 am and returned to C3 at 5:00 pm. Mick Britton never reached BC on Ama Dablam. During the acclimatization trek he decided he was not ready to climb. Chris has white blisters on both hands from rapelling on May 8th going from C3 to C2. Mild frostbite. Hired: Ang Gelu has been to Everest, had climbed Ama Dablam twice; he assisted in carries to C1. Ungurl came to C1 to help carry gear back down. |
