Route Notes Went to Chukkung Ri (Maselko and Chiles) to acclimatize; others not (Poles arrived later, Johansson not feeling well enough to go beyond Pheriche). Marcin slept in C2 on 7th, to C3 at noon on 8th and then down because leaders told him he too slow to go higher (took 6 hours to go from C2 to C3). Maselko and Pawlowski established camps for other members; a falling sharp piece of ice pierced hole in tent at C3. Johansson - 13 Nov 98 Went to toilet in night of 1 Nov and fell down, has no memory of this period but managed to crowd to his tent and passed out 3 times during the night. Teammates stopped him when his breathing stopped and it resumed. Was soon better and went to C1 but terrible headache and irregular vision sent him on 4 Nov with teammate to aid past at Pheriche, when he passed out 8 times that night. Evacuated to KTM on 5th by helicopter with fellow Swedish members. Tests in KTM do not explain what his problem was but is much better now. Flies to Stockholm on 14th/15th and goes into hospital there for more sophisticated examination.
Accidents Johansson accident at BC (he fell down)
